On 4/22/19 initiated a new hunger strike based on being denied medicine and communication with his family. Misael ended this hunger strike on

5/9/19 after it was communicated to media and medical assistance was resumed. There was medical attention provided to Misael and other prisoner of #4 however, following that initial show of medical attention, Misael was advised that his medicines would need to be provided by his family.
