Su madre, tía y esposa fueron agredidas y detenidas en el Tribunal Provincial de Santiago de Cuba el día que se celebraba el juicio al activista.

Maikel was sentenced to one year, eight months - his aunt, mother and wife were aggravated and detained the day of his sentencing.
